Copenhagen

An English-speaking psychologist in Copenhagen

Two authorised psychologists on Frederiksberg. No referral, no waiting list, and the whole thing in English if that is your language.

Where we are

Falkoner Allé 1, 3rd floor, 2000 Frederiksberg

Frederiksberg is its own municipality, but it sits in the middle of Copenhagen — four minutes on the metro from Forum, about ten from Kongens Nytorv. We are a few minutes’ walk from Frederiksberg Station (metro M1 and M2); buses 4A and 31 stop nearby. There is a lift in the building.

Therapy in the language you think in

Doing therapy in your second language is doing it with the handbrake on. You can describe what happened, but the words that carry the feeling are usually in another language, and you end up reporting your life rather than living it in the room.

We work in English, Danish and Persian. Not “we can manage in English” — sessions, notes, emails and the booking are all in English if you want them to be.

How the Danish system works, briefly

There are two kinds of psychologist here: those with a public agreement (ydernummer) and those without. With one, and a referral from your doctor, the state covers around 60 % — and the waiting lists are usually months long. Twenty-two new agreements were allocated nationally on 1 July 2026, ten of them in the Copenhagen region. That is not many for a capital.

We do not have one. What we have instead is no waiting list and no referral: you book a time and you usually come in within a week.

What you can get back: if you are a member of Sygeforsikringen «danmark», typically 300 DKK per session with no doctor involved. If your job comes with a health insurance, it often covers the course completely — that is worth checking before you pay anything yourself.

What we work with

Anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, couples, and complex PTSD, which is our specialism.

If you moved here from somewhere else, therapy for internationals is written for exactly that — including the parts of it that are not a disorder and still hurt.

Questions

What people usually ask

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

No. You book a time yourself. There is no referral, no assessment interview to get through first, and no waiting list.

How long is the wait?

There is none. Most people are seen within a week. That is the main practical difference between us and a psychologist with a public agreement.

Are you actually in Copenhagen?

We are on Frederiksberg, which is a separate municipality sitting inside Copenhagen. Four minutes on the metro from Forum, around ten from Kongens Nytorv. For most people in the city we are closer than the nearest psychologist with a public agreement.

Can I get any money back?

Not the public subsidy — that requires an agreement we do not have. But Sygeforsikringen «danmark» pays around 300 DKK per session regardless of where you live, and most workplace health insurances cover the whole course. See insurance and reimbursement.

Can we meet online?

Yes. See online therapy — including where we advise against it.
