What we can do, and what we cannot

Let us be precise, because there is a lot of confusion about this:

A diagnosis of ADHD is made by a doctor or psychiatrist — not by a psychologist. The same goes for medication. We carry out psychological assessment and testing, which can form part of a diagnostic process, and we treat what comes with it. We cannot give you a diagnosis, and we cannot overturn one you have been given.

Supplementary psychological assessment

If you have been assessed and are left with a feeling that it does not fit — or that something was missed — we can carry out a supplementary psychological assessment. This is relevant because several conditions look like ADHD from the outside:

That is not the same as saying the diagnosis is wrong. It is saying that it is worth looking into properly if something does not add up. Read about supplementary psychological assessment.

Treatment for ADHD

If you have an ADHD diagnosis, we work with what medication does not solve: shame over a life with too many failures, conflict in your relationship, chaos in everyday life, and the exhaustion that comes from compensating all the time.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you assess me for ADHD?

We can carry out psychological assessment and testing, which can form part of a diagnostic process. The diagnosis itself is made by a doctor or psychiatrist, and we work together with psychiatrists on this.

Can you confirm in writing that I do not have ADHD?

No. We can give a thorough psychological assessment of what, in our professional judgement, lies behind your difficulties — but diagnostic authority rests with the doctor.
