Getting money back
If you are a member of Sygeforsikringen «danmark» — a widely held Danish supplementary health insurance — you typically get 300 DKK back per session, or 450 DKK if you are between 16 and 25. No doctor's referral is required, and the annual ceiling is 7.200 DKK for most reasons. It requires treatment by a state-authorised psychologist, which we both are.
Many employer health insurance schemes in Denmark cover psychological treatment, often 8–12 sessions a year. If you have one through work, it is worth checking — most people do not know they have it.
We do not have a ydernummer
Being straight about this: we have no agreement with the Danish public health service, so you cannot get the roughly 60% public subsidy here even with a doctor's referral. Very few of those agreements exist, and the psychologists who hold one generally have long waiting lists.
In exchange: no referral, no waiting list, and you can start next week.
Payment
You pay after each session by card or MobilePay and receive a receipt you can forward to «danmark» or your insurer. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
There is no waiting list to join first
